Tommi Mendel

Born and raised in Lucerne, Switzerland Tommi Mendel hit the road in his early twenties and backpacked around the world passing through over a hundred countries for almost a decade. Turning thirty he settled in Zurich in order to study Social Anthropology and Religious Studies at the University of Zurich. The ethnographic documentary Arukihenro is his first film and at the same time his MA-thesis in Visual Anthropology. Currently Tommi is a lecturer in Visual Anthropology while studying for his PhD at the Instiute of Religious Studies - University of Zurich.
