I Will Sing Your Song
A two-day songwriting workshop between U.S. military veterans and songwriters becomes a lifeline for the veterans as they confront and share untold stories of war, loss, and survival, while honoring the legacy of Captain Drew Ferguson. His belief in the healing power of music lives on through Project D.R.E.W.
Project D.R.E.W. – “Delivering Restorative Energy to our Warriors” – is an ongoing effort to document the lived experiences of American veterans through song. Men and women who have served across branches, across conflicts, and across generations participate in the program. At its core, the program seeks to capture stories of service, sacrifice, and the often unseen journey home converted into song.
Through intimate, two-day workshops, veterans are paired with professional songwriters and invited to share their stories, often for the first time. These collaborations culminate in songs of their experiences and stories in the military. At the conclusion of the weekend, private performances of their songs are shared with families and fellow veterans, where music becomes both a testimony and a release.
