Filmmaker: Trecia Reavis and Jeff Schmidt
Status: In Production

An early morning encounter in the Deep South with a posse seeking revenge for the killing of a white deputy sheriff, leaves the family patriarch of an African-American family dead along with two other relatives, and the remaining family members running for their lives.

85 years later, the Crawford family has survived and even thrived, but the psychological trauma and emotional scars from that violent incident still lingers in the minds of the generations that have followed.

While caring for her ailing mother, the slain family patriarch’s great granddaughter embarks on a quest of self-discovery, tracing her family’s journey as part of the Great Migration and their resilience in pursuit of the American dream.
