Alan Klima is a visual anthropologist and filmmaker who works in Thailand, where he has studied and practiced Buddhist cremation grounds and corpse meditation. His interests in the media of film and digital video, dream and documentary, meditation and philosophy, have converged in Ghosts and Numbers, which represents a unique form of ethnographic filmmaking.
Alan Klima is Professor of Anthropology at the University of California, Davis, and author of the Victor Turner Prize-winning ethnography The Funeral Casino: Meditation, Massacre, and Exchange with the Dead in Thailand(2002, Princeton University Press).
