Lauren Semmel earned her baccalaureate of Arts degree in Visual Anthropology from Temple University (’07). An experienced and globally minded traveler, she has recently been to India, Japan, and Thailand through Temple University’s study-abroad experience. She is a talented cameraperson and is proficient in the editing process as well. The Last Rites of the Honourable Mr. Rai is her first full-length film, in addition to the many short films made during her visual anthropology studies.
She is now in the process of traveling to Vietnam, where she will work with an ethnographic film company. She will stay there for at least eight months, with the possibility of extending her stay, while studying the Vietnamese culture and continuing to produce ethnographic films.
