  • Rolf Husmann (born 1950) is a German anthropologist with a specialisation in ethnographic filmmaking and the anthropology of sport. Apart from regularly teaching (visual) anthropology at various universities worldwide, he worked at the IWF Knowledge and Media in Göttingen (Germany) from 1992 until 2010 and is now working as a free-lance filmmaker.

    He has made film about the Nuba (Nuba Wrestling, 1991), the Pacific Arts Festival (Maire Nui Vaka, 1995), Samoans in New Zealand (Destination Samoa, 1998) as well as film portraits of Raymond Firth (Firth On Firth, 1993) and Asen Balikci (The Professional Foreigner, 2009). From 2001 until 2008 he was chairman of the Commission on Visual Anthropology (CVA).
