Land Acknowledgement
DER acknowledges the ancestral and sacred land of the Massa-adchu-es-et (Massachusett) and their neighbors the Wampanoag, and Nipmuc Peoples, who have stewarded this land for hundreds of generations.
MISSION
DER’s mission is to distribute, produce, and support ethnographic and documentary media that foster cross-cultural understanding and empathy, and prioritize underrepresented voices.
HISTORY
For over fifty years, DER has been a leader at the intersection of documentary filmmaking and social science research, and is an internationally recognized center for documentary anthropology and ethnographic film.
